I have 67 f100 with a 352. I read somewhere in here about a 390 that came with chrome v/c. I have chrome v/c on my 352. The reason I ask is I have never seen after market v/c like these. They are heavy like the stock ones and they have the old power by ford on them with a tail coming off the f underlining the power. Maybe there just a set before my time and they since changed designs for most of the after market sets. What do the 390 ones look like?
yea I looked at those on ebay. they dont look like any of those. I did see a set of originals someone was selling off of a 428cj. they were exactly like mine. I guess maybe someone found a set somewhere and put them on mine.
I got chrome v/c on my 352 in a 62 gal xl but they say "thunderbird " on them they must be original cause there rusty and pitted gonna have them powdercoated
Abfitch,
Just a thought, but mavbe Powered by Ford was for industrial engines? When I think of it, the six cylinder Ford in my Dad's swather had a valve cover that said powered by Ford. Of course I could be totally wrong. Been known to happen.
The chrome "power(ed) by Ford valve covers were std equipment on the GT390's and early 428CJ motors. As far as I know, they have never been reproduced, if they have or are, let me know, I'd like a new set. The originals are extemely hard to find in excellant condition and none of the current chrome FE covers look as good as the originals.
