Packages like this are marketing genius. it used to be cheap ugly models got black, white or argent bumpers and grilles, saves money for those who weren't concerned with appearances. then one day somebody said let's have a black package and tell people it's cool. then let's charge extra for less and they'll really think it's special. and I'll be damned if it didn't work.
It's fine if it's what you like. I don't , and like avocado color appliances and orange carpet this fad will pass too. and if it doesn't I can get a can of krylon and blast everything on my pickup black anytime I want.
It has the modified exhaust and the head rest have FTX embroidered in them…don’t know if seat material is any different…has carbon fiber dash, adjusted headlights for the lift and adjusted odometer for the wheels and tires…on the gauges it says FTX instead of Ford…FTX on the rocker panels…it’s basically a converted Lariat with every possible option that’s available on this model as far as I know…the only 2 things I know it doesn’t have are on premium models only I think, the multi contour seats and the lock box in the center console…instead it has a refrigerator in the center console that holds 12 cans or 7 bottles…

Its high gloss black.
The base trucks are matte textured trim appearance.
You also get some other things that require optioning up quite a bit in the lariat trim level. I had ordered one for this reason, didnt come fast enough so I bought used unfortunately.

It won’t pass. Most kids up to about 35 years old and younger don’t get chrome. And some of us old guys move with times. I was a two tone chrome package dreamer for years. Now they look “old man” to me.
Ones personal tastes are just that, personal. I like the look of the black grille and badges, but draw the line at black wheels and bumpers.
On a business level chrome matters to customers. I have some XL trucks (in nice shape and shiny) that I use in my business and when I show up in one with black bumpers, grille, and steel wheels customers always question if my other truck (chrome) is down for repair. I throw some chrome, or silver painted aluminum wheels on that same truck and show up, I get asked if I bought a new truck and complimented on having nice trucks.
Moral of the story Ive never been complimented on a truck with black wheels, and only complimented on a truck with black bumpers and grille if it had chrome or silver painted aluminum wheels.

One problem for me with modern "chrome" is...it isn't. There is NO plastic chrome that looks good 10 years down the road, most of the time it starts bubbling and peeling. I've seen cars approaching 75+ years old that have OEM chrome that looks better than new plasti-chrome. I think that has a lot to do with it. And it's a lot more maintenance to keep clean.

I agree with this. My current truck has "chrome" and it just looks like cheap, Walmart garbage. That and the only thing I can picture now when I think about chrome are all the squatted, clapped out trucks that have every piece of stick on chrome from Walmart and 26x16 chrome wheels. I don't care for one extreme or the other anyway (chrome v black). IMO, color matched with either chrome or black mixed in is the way to go. For me that mix in is black but just here and there.
That's why I got a king ranch two tone. I don't mind color coordinated painted parts or even some black trim. but I admit I'm too old for the flat brim pants hanging below my knees crowd and that might be the problem.
Give all that gloss black stuff a few years and let's look at it again. nothing takes abuse and hides it like gloss black. HA ! kind of like John Candy's rental car, " I'm sure that'll buff right out. "
No thanks... anti-black here. Chrome trim and bumpers sparkle silver wheels. I do like the black around the doors, and my black tool box, black mirrors. I am not a fan of pimped out chrome anymore than all black, I like the mix but never all black wheels, can not do those. Personal taste for sure.
I like the look of the BAP; looks great IMO but I didn't want it because I keep my trucks for a long time and chrome holds up much better IME, esp. the bumpers.

lol life’s too short to be that grumpy and to care that much about another man’s truck.
I have a BAP truck in rapid red, I also have several XL Super Duties for work. I can assure you the front end is much nicer looking in person and not just ford “telling people it’s cool” and charging more.
ill never understand guys who get so upset over another man’s truck. I think -76mm offset wheels with thin stretched tires looks funny. But it’s okay if someone else wants that on their truck…..Maybe youre insecure about your own choice of truck so you feel the urge to have such strong feelings of other trucks.
So if you like a bunch of tacky chrome that’s fine too. That choice is there. If ford didn’t offer chrome anymore and only offered BAP I could understand your frustration. Not being able to get what you prefer would understandably make you upset……but since you can get as much chrome as your heart desires I’m not so sure why you care about someone who doesn’t agree and prefers paint matched/black lol.
here’s some pics to **** you off. I like it, some hate it but that’s what’s great is we can get whatever we want.
