2004 6.0 no reverse

Hey guys, I have a f-350 2004 6.0 with a automatic transmission. I was driving it a while ago and the tow/haul button started blinking so I knew there was something wrong with the tranny. It drove home fine and when I got home I went to put it in reverse and it drove forward. I put it in neutral and it drove forward. All gears except park and it drives forward and in drive it still shifts a little off. The tranny fluid was a little dark so I changed it but it didn’t fix anything. Does this sound like a sensor or solenoid going bad or staying stuck open? Or did I loose reverse and the tranny is shot? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Your forward clutch has failed and is welded together. It is time to rebuild or replace the transmission.

@Mark Kovalsky would a regular tranny rebuild kit including this or would I have to get something special?

That depends on what's damaged. If damage is minimal, a master rebuild kit will have what you need. If it is extensive, you will need to replace hard parts that are not part of any rebuild kit. The only way to know is to tear it down and inspect it.
