I have a 59 F-250 and am trying to figure out the VIN. The plate is not on the drivers door nor on the glove box, but I found the 2 stamped on the frame. I have attached pictures because it seems like there may be something missing at the front of the VIN. there is a space between the number 4 and the 25 on both VINs. Should there be something there?
Welcome to FTE. Kind of unique with the blank spots. I would expect to see an F before the 25 and then either a J,K or L prior to the 8. The 8 makes me think it is a '58. Not sure about the Y. The K would indicate the Kansas city plant and the remaining numbers are the sequence of Assembly. The trucks specific serial number. fortunately there are many folks here smarter than I who might know. how about a pic of the beast?
Here is a pic in current state. It is getting IFS and IRS and a crown vic drivetrain.
that picture looks very familiar..
I’m also jumping into the cv ifs and mustang irs rabbit hole. This is how far I got last weekend. Old suspension out and resting(not mounted) on the new setup. Trying to decide on ride height. Still undecided on engine and drivetrain, but I’ve got plenty to do first. Are you boxing the frame? Front to back?
