F600 VIN Help
I was looking to see if somebody could help me identify the year of a truck I recently acquired based on the production sequence number of the VIN. Everything I have found seems to indicate that it's a 1972 but I wanted to check with those who have a better knowledge of the production numbers than I do.
VIN: F60DV060112
TIA
D = 330 2V XD gas FT V8 (XD replacing HD)
V = Kentucky Truck Plant
060112 = 1977 numerical series (1972 uses the letter "o" vs. zero, and they look the same in print. Best I can tell. See model number below)
158 = 158 inch wheelbase
T = Red
F602 = F600 gas, 4x2, 19,200 lbs GVWR (For 1972, model F602 shows the same except a 20,000 lb GVWR)
AA8 = Black Vinyl / 8 = 81A Standard Cab.
A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission
F2K
F2 = Eaton model 15201 two speed rear axle, 15,000 lbs capacity, 5.83/8.12 ratios
K = Ford 5,500 lb capacity front axle with power steering
19200 = 19,200 lbs GVWR
25 = Richmond District Code
No special order
Let me know if something doesn't line up. Beware widowmaker wheels! Post more pictures if you want and good luck with it!
