Engine upgrades
Hello I am trying to help a friend with his 77 4x4 3/4 ton. He is rebuilding the motor.
My friend bought this truck new and is trying to keep it in the family. He has to have the 460 block bored due to a scared cylinder.
My friend has questions on how he should set up the motor. He doesn't want it to be radical. He just wants to wake it up a bit.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Compression is how you up the performance. how much depends on what you want to spend to feed it premium fuel isn't cheap. if he's like me and drives it very little then no big deal. if he does ouch.
The biggest upgrade there is in my opinion is a custom spec roller cam . it's less than $1000 more than a generic flat tappet set up and is SO much nicer in every possible way.
