Starter install
I had my 51 flathead v8 starter rebuilt. they told me they put a heavy duty drive on it due to 12 v system. I have read on hear about those being larger. I have very little room to maneuver the starter due to the oil pan and exhaust pipe. any suggestions on how to install? I have read you need to tilt the starter toward the engine to clear the flywheel. could I remove the oil pan to install the starter, or maybe the transmission and flywheel? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Starter is in
So I finally took the start back to the rebuild shop and had them change the drive to an older version. I had it installed in less than 5 minutes after fighting with the other one for days.
