Stranded: Transmission problem with codes
246k miles. Had a funny sound like two pieces of sheet metal rubbing together. Then some shudders at low speed with flashing tow/haul and check engine light. Getting codes p0752-FF shift solenoid A, p2700-FF friction element, p0700-60 Trans Control System. Goes into gear fine and is drivable, except for it not acting right.
Waiting on a tow now, didn't want to keep driving it in case I can save it, so I parked it. Any ideas? I could really use Mark's advice. If anyone has the part# for solenoid A that would be much appreciated.

Much appreciated. Going to try to locate a solenoid asap. Afraid I might have to settle for an aftermarket one unless the local dealer has one on hand.
If anyone has a part# for shift solenoid A that would be awesome.

Thanks TMT. Going to swing by the dealer in the morning, maybe they can get me one in a day if they don't have it on hand. Would pain me to put an aftermarket unit in there. Thankful for the help, will update once it's swapped out.

Not pertinent to the OP's need, but the attachment is interesting, showing the part numbers for the SSPC-B. SSPC-C, SSPC-E solenoids as 3C3Z-7J136-AB

The part numbers for them is 3C3Z-7J136-BA.
Seems like a minor issue, but from the way I understand the part number convention, the difference might result in the customer being sold the wrong solenoid. Good information on the connector locating tabs.

I didn't button it up because the 6.4 filter looked dark and I saw glitter in the filter (30k on filter). I planned on getting a new filter in the morning before filling it back up to be safe. But now I'm wondering if it's even worth dropping $70 on a filter at the dealer?
Fluid was changed religiously every 30k using SP. Never abused the truck, simply used it like a truck. Wonder if the snap ring recall applied to my early '06 build.
Anyone recommend a good stock replacement transmission online?

No, it did not. All of the problem snap ring parts were long gone before the 2006 model build began.

Thanks Mark. I decided this trans is finished. Those are some considerably solid chunks of metal in the pan, so something is starting to come apart/eat itself. Not going to waste $80 in SP fluid to try to button up the pan, even if it runs I suspect it will leave me stranded again soon enough. Was considering a Ford reman due to the 3yr warranty, but am reading and hearing of not so great experiences with it. Strongly considering a Warren stock+ and waiting a few weeks for it, priced the same as a Ford reman.
