I am replacing my windshield washer pump & fluid tank in my 1971 F250 300 4.9L. This setup has the pump mounted inside the bottom of the fluid tank. The pump has a rubber mounted on the end that seals to the tank material.
I have seen on the Web & U-tube that some have had trouble with the seal leaking fluid after the installation. Should the rubber be lubed before installation? What type of lube? Thanks for the help.
AAubinoe - Thanks for the idea on the dielectric grease. The 71-72 tank is not the same, bit more square in shape. DC is out of stock for the 71, may have to get it from LMC.
