They primarily came in big truck Fords. Mainly used for trucks above F350 rating in the 60s n 70s. In many U-Haul trucks.
Ford's 391 cubic inch big-block, manufactured from 1966 to 1978, is a member of the FT truck engine series --- closely related to the more common FE-Series. The FT-Series consists of the 330, 361 and 391 cubic inch engines and have differences related to their truck usage. FE and FT engines are first identified in the same manner, beginning with locating and decoding the engine casting number, then by noting differences unique to FT-series engines. As Ford casting numbers do not identify displacement, measuring the engine's stroke may ultimately be necessary.
Those iron headers look good, but are no more "original" in a pickup than headers, and at $800 are very expensive.
FT manifolds are possibly marginally better than the OEM pickup manifolds, but they are old, probably warped and prone to cracking. Plus you have to deal with the crossover blockoff.
The OEM 427 cast headers are said to not fit in pickups and are pretty expensive.

Headers are awesome but they don’t last very long. I have $800 headers on the 460 in my 72. The ceramic coating doesn’t last and they begin to rust.
I guess it comes down to which option you want to maintain. Both will need maintenance. The cast iron option is a lot easier to R&R than the headers.
Kugal 406 manifolds on my 393. Very minimal notch needed Fantastic items.

That is great to know! I have a set of the original Ford manifolds but I've never had a chance to see if they will fit on a 2 WD. I don't mind making a minor trim, but didn't want to butcher the frame.
