I have a 1942, 46 or 47 Ford truck. Going by grill design and it's a straight 6 with a dually rear two speed axle; assuming at least a 1-1/2 ton. I cannot find a king pin set for it. The spindles are huge. The pin is 7 inches long and diam is 1-1/8 inch. Anyone have any ideas???
A lot of us like our two ton jailbars stock (ish) but that sounds like a good powertrain to me. I have a bit of each. Yes those are the kingpins you want. I have always honed my kinpins here in my woodshop with a wood dowel, slotted for a strip of abrasive belt and a cordless drill. Many on the 'fordbarn forum' rolled their eyes but a surprising amount of folks there have now experimented with my methods with good results.
