No power windows, no interior lights (GEM?)
I come to you with another odd problem BUT I gained as much detail as possible. I did a Cab swap few months back on my 2001 F350 CC 4X4 Lariat and finally finished it and today was the test drive EXCEPT I realize my Windows don't work. Checked all door switches, Master window controls (and window-lock) but nothing. I also noticed I have no Dome/Courtesy/Map lights and my speakers in the front don't appear to be working. Though I wouldn't rule out them being blown.
Checked all fuses and under the hood #29, (20A) for the Radio was pulling 1.8 ohms. Then I checked fuses under the dashboard and found #15 (5A) pulling 3.5 ohms. Previous owner put in a 10A fuse but that shouldn't change much...
Functions of #15 are Stop Lamp Switch (Logic): Generic Electronic Module (GEM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Four Wheel Anti-lock Brake System (4WABS) Module, Brake Shift Interlock, Cluster and PCM Keep Alive Memory
All the other fuses were perfect with 00.1 ohms and the 2 fuses mentioned above visually look fine, even interchanged them with other fuses svd got same results. I'm not sure what could cause this. Or where to go from here. I'm not sure if it's Relays, GEM related or what. Any insight would be great
So this might be helpful for those seeking answers. Since my last post I jumped the Accessory Delay Relay and got the windows working. Everything suggested a bad GEM from what I read but also symptoms. I did more digging, read the circuit diagrams and decided to backtrack the circuit but by function. Well I started from the dash saver fuse and worked my way down and found #4 fuse was missing. I forgot I pulled it awhile back due to sticking door ajar leaving dome lights on. As soon as I did that, my windows immediately started working!!! I'm guessing the GEM detected the Interior Light Relay to be open since the fuse was removed causing the GEM circuit to remain open and create parasitic draw along with none of the power windows or interior lights since the GEM runs off the interior light circuit. Closed the loop and we're all good. Case closed.
Moral of the story, trace your circuits to guarantee they're complete before working your way to the GEM.

But forgetting something like that is just how things go!
Glad you got it fixed Thanks for closing the loop!
