Long story short, I was installing my cb antenna on the roof and when I was messing with the dome light I shorted it out and the dome lights blew out. The dome lights are out, the windows don't have power, and the instrument panel lights up with the headlight switch, but all the gauges are dead and I no longer have a wait to start light. I think that it is the # 601 curcit breaker, but not sure. I see no fuse for the dome light and need to roll the windows up tonight! Thanks in advance, Dale

"Instrument Display" fuse.. It's a 10a fuse, bottom row (43ish area) between two 20a fuses.
Thanks STORM, but thats not it. I have checked all the fuses that might be related, but everything is good. I even replaced fuses that look good with new ones. It might be the relay #306 which is the delayed accesory relay, but I have no way to test it. I have tried to swap it out with another relay, but it doesn't change anything. any suggestions? I need help! Dale

Let me think then.. The circuit that operates your dome lights, windows etc are tied into the Instrument Display fuse in the box.. Unless Ford did something different between our year trucks.. TNT and I did the same thing couple weekends ago.. We shorted out the dome lights and I had nothing.. No radio, windows, dome lights.. It turned out ot be a 10a fuse, replaced it and all went to normal..
If you have a test probe or Volt meter I would check the 12v constant to the relay and verify it has power..
Thanks, I just found my volt meter after moving so I will check it out now.
Hit post button to early...
Check for 12v constant to the relay.. Either Key on or Key off.. If you have power then use a jumper wire and close the relay connection. See if that works..
Worse case scenario, pop your door panel off and give the window motor 12v's to roll it up.
does your radio work? if not i'm betting its the same fuse Storm mentioned. I also did the same thing and killed the power windows and radio, not sure about the gauges as I didn't get that far. Is there not a fuse diagram online anywhere?
The relay has power and I jumped terminal 30 and 87 so that I had power to the windows and radio. The dome lights still did not have power. I have tried switching the relay with another, but it's a no go. The two other terminals never have power, so the truck is never energizing the switch in the relay.
Dont just look at the fuse, test it with the multimeter. I shorted out a PCM fuse, and it took me a good hour wondering how i blew a pcm. Turned out the fuse looked good but was blown. Also to check relays you can take on out for something else and just pop it in real quick.
OK guys I've got it!! I feel kinda dumb. Storm was right it was the instrument fuse #35. What had happened is the bottom row of fuses goes from #34 on the left to #48 on the right. When I looked at the diagram on the cover and then counted from the left I started from #40 cause #39 is not used and the relay blocked my view of the other 5 to the left of it. I started to test all of the fuses (did 1-19) with the volt ohm meter, and then I pulled out #35 and I was like s#!^. So thanks for the help guys!
I konw I was gonna, but I just tried a thread first. Thanks I still want to get together and trace your temp probe down. Maybe It will have to wait till the meeting.
Glad to hear you got it fixed.. Trust me its ok.. I was just as dumbfounded as you were when we did it.. I checked every fuse and still couldn't figure it out.. Finally I said screw it and left TNT's house only to realize my radio didn't work.. So I started again and thats when I found the Instrument Display fuse
