No forward or reverse. When it first happened, it wouldn't go back into park and made a grinding noise. I have absolutely nothing now. Not even park. The shifter will sit in park, but I can roll the truck. Fluid level seems fine. I'm assuming it's kaput. Any chance I'm reading this wrong?
I've swapped in junkyard transmissions on other vehicles, but I don't have the time, space, or help to do it now. How much should I expect to pay for a good rebuild?
IS it 4 wheel drive? Sounds more like transfer case is in neutral? Park should lock in place even if transmission is shot? Well the old C6 park was mechanical. I would think the E4OD were same.
If not 4X4 possible the yoke is slipping on splines, broken ring / pinion, snapped output shaft on trans ... but that your back to trans rebuild.

It's not 4x4.
When I tried to shift it back into park, it made a real bad grinding sound. I shut it off in Neutral. Shifted to park. Restarted it. So the shifter is in Park position but I can roll the truck. I'd be surprised if the pinion broke because it really shouldn't have been under stress. I was just backing up slowly in the driveway.
