Not the same thing, but I haven’t ran tubes in the tube type racing slicks on my car in years. The tubes were prone to pinch holes in the sidewall (wrinkles a ton at launch) or pull on the valve stem when the tire slipped on the rim a bit over time (before I screwed them). I know many guys running their drag slicks like this. 🤷♂️
And yes, that bolt test was impressive!
Oh, I got some new tires too! Kinda excited about it too. lol

Probably not! I think only ATV sizing. lol
These are actually much less aggressive than the originals. We do mostly road and light trail riding so my focus was on a radial with better wear and noise characteristics but still have the ability to get through the mud holes that can’t be bypassed. The old tires were LOUD on the road, and that’s saying something when sitting on top of the engine.
So I was wanting something resembling the old Buckshot mudders folks used when I was young. Ended up settling on these Tusk Terrabite.
I’m actually hoping to get the bigger model of this buggy once the crazy supply/demand thing has passed.
Here’s a photo of the old vs new. These are the back. The fronts were worn out.
Sorry for the thread de-rail. I was just excited for the new skins.
I never buy ATV tires for an ATV or UTV or SxS EVER if it's equipped with 14s or has 14" x 6" or 7" wheels available for it.
I have put numerous sets of load range C light truck tires on them only because they cost the exact same or LESS and won't wear out, get punctured by rocks, feel squishy, or get overloaded. Obviously they don't have to run 50 PSI on a "quad" but the road manners/balancing/stability of a LT tire on a heavy side-by-side makes a huge difference and usually only takes buying another set of front wheels and installing them on the rear so long as the lug pattern is the same.
Seriously, look into 27x8.5-14 Kumho Road Venture MT or General Grabber AT. Interco also makes a 28x8.5-14 TSL Super Swamper.
Cleatus, now you tell me!
Naw, it’s got 12” rims anyhow. Doubt they make truck tires that small. These were a fairly decent price for radials bought from https://www.pureoffroad.com/

Yeah, well some of us don’t have dual HPOPs to spend our money on….

Funny you mention Buckshots. I haven't seen them in years but I was getting an alignment this morning and there was a vehicle at the shop that had Maxxus "Buckshot" tires on it. They don't look anything like the Buckshots I had in '88.

Thanks for the information. A friend of mine switched to truck tires on his SxS because he couldn't get the regular tires to last. But his SxS runs bigger tires in the 31" + range. I'm limited to 27"-28" on my SxS. I looked at the truck tires he bought and they didn't go down to my size. I thought maybe they didn't make truck tires that went down that small. So I'll have to look at these tires you mentioned.

only place I know that has those was about five years ago and our farmers co-op.

Glad yours are working out well for you.
What model pioneer is that? I’ve been looking at getting one too. Right now I’ve got two ATVs. They’re both awesome but tough to carry that second person and I’m not getting any younger. ATVs are pretty much mandatory where I hunt in the hills on the edge of the Delta in Mississippi. I wish we had better access with trucks but that is no go. It’s all narrow logging roads. I have search for a couple years for one of those little Suzuki sidekicks or something like that in good condition but that’s very difficult to find. I hate running ATVs through the woods cause runs everything out. But the other members do it.
One has a Honda pioneer 1000 special edition and that thing is awesome.
