Wow I'm surprised I paid $756 for installation but mine were Firestone. I can't believe Firestone would still cost so much considering all the trouble they had in the past...

I should also say that I got credit for each for the Generals, as each one had weather cracking and chunks the size of half marbles missing out of the thread. And the one with the screw in it I only had to pay of difference of the new tire which was 32 bucks or so. So with out the trade in it would have been a little over $800.00. I could not pass up that kind of deal as it was a steal.
Has anyone run the General Grabbers A/T? They are at summit ford $135 each. Im undecided on my next set (which is real soon). I have the Generals now (street tire) and they are still smooth. Those Goodyears do look good.

After just getting my generals off I would never buy another general tire in my lifetime!
Those Grabbers look real close in tread pattern to the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors...I would look into those If you wanted something with that same thread pattern and a much better preforming tire.
The silent Armors are about 30 bucks more a tire then the AT/S's I got and that is only a P, I believe they are over 200.00 each in the LT.
Yeah, very nice boots, I'll keep those in mind for the 4x4 when I'm ready, tires I have now are too clumsy. Must add though that I have General Arctic snow-ice tires on the Mustang and they are some of the best I ever drove in weather.

I just had a set of AT2s installed and so far I like them alot. Have great grab in 4 wheel and ride smooth and quiet on the highway. The old problems of Generals being out of round seems to have been corrected at least on the AT2s. Used very minimal weight to balance. I did some research before buying and a couple of the 4 wheel magazines rated them as good or better then the BFGs KO. Only negative I read was a user review from a guy using them for serious off-roading and his complaint was sidewall punctures. Since that scenario doesn't apply to me I felt confident in my decision. Got them for $110.00 per tire before trade in allowance and install from Discount Tire. That isn't their list price, I had to do a littile haggling.
glad you like them dfishrmn88, but I'll never own Generals again. I won't even purchase a vehicle with 'em. Either they go or I walk.
Never had luck with them, and I hear nothing but horror stories from others. But hey, maybe General has taken a turn for the bettter.
Tylus,
Yeah I have talked to other folks that either love 'em or hate 'em. Doesn't seem to be much middle ground. I was happy with the stock Generals that came with the truck as far as wear, ride, etc. except they didn't fit my needs. Needed something with a little more aggresive tread. So far these really fit the bill.
