I picked up my '22 last week that I ordered last March and I'm going through this as well. my dealer made me pay the new invoice price and they're supposed to send me the price protection refund when Ford sends it to them. they say Ford is slow in paying and they're not funding the difference.
So that's fine but what if they don't ? will Ford do anything about it ? I expect I'm going to find out given another dispute I'm having with the dealer. but in my case and it may be in yours as well it's either pay it and hope to get it back or not get the pickup. that was the option I was given .
That's total BS. The dealership is suppose to honor the price protection at the time the truck arrives and you are ready to sign the papers. He should honor the price protection at that time, no if's or buts. Then it's up to them to send in the paperwork and get reimbursed by Ford for the MSRP difference. That's the way it should work with most respectable dealers, and the way it was with mine.
I just received a check from my dealer for $3540 for "Price Protection Adjustment". I looked at my original order and compared to the sticker and the difference is $2310. No idea where the additional $1230 came from ,but, I LIKE IT! I even inquired with the dealer to make sure it was correct and they verified it was. This was the best deal I ever received on a new vehicle. I bought a new '22 for $4800 more than a '21 and the '22 was upgraded to a Lariat ultimate. Crazy. The best part was the dealership gave me $59k for my '21 and I paid $60,595 for it 19 months earlier. I begged the boss to get a '23 ordered and it was a solid NO. DANG! At this rate, I can afford to upgrade to a Platinum and still be money ahead. I just can't talk her into it!
