Hey guys I’m new here but I need some help. I have a 97 f-250 7.3 has 380,000 miles on it. It will run when it is above 50 degrees outside but get into 40 degrees it will not run it turns over but will
not start. I’ve replaced glow plugs, icp, ipr, I’ve checked fuel pressure I think it was 65 I’ve pulled valve covers off checked injectors I had two on the drivers side not pumping oil but everything else was pumping. Now I’m trying to figure out how to deadhead my hpop to test it. Any suggestions
Sounds like your GPR might not be working. You've replaced glow plugs but not the glow plug relay, correct?
You can check it with a multimeter - make sure both large posts are reading battery voltage when the ignition is switched on. It's timed, so have a friend help, or be quick!
Does she start cold when you plug in the block heater for a couple of hours?
Recommend setting yourself up with a scanner and OBDII dongle to read codes, and check HP oil, among other things. Cheap and effective method described in the thread below:
Buzz test on one of those cold mornings would tell you a lot, If you've never checked gaps on injector solenoids. If you replaced GPS, that would be my next step. Especially if it starts after being plugged up for a few hours.
