Son and I bought a 2006 f350 6.0 extended cab with 107k that had an engine fire. Frame harness and cab harness still look good. The fire came from the snow plow mounted on the front. We also have a donor f350 for all the harnesses and pieces
My question is based off of the donor. The original has auto hubs and the donor has the 4x4 is on the floor. Are there any differences in the wiring harnesses in the engine bay? I think there is a vacuum line that I will have to replace. Any other differences I would run into?
You'll need to source a 4x4 vacuum solonoid and a bit of vacuum line, other than that I believe it's all the same.
There is a control module mounted above the glove box, but it sounds like that part is still intact.
For the 06 model year, the wires go from the 4WD switch to the 4WD control module. I do not know what wire bundle they might be in though. More than likely the wires that travel over the turbo in that (not so reliable) plastic tray. There are also VBATT and VPWR wires from the Central Junction Box (CJB), and one from the brake pedal switch that go directly to the 4WD control module. I also see one wire from the ABS control module (VSS) to the 4WD module.
