brake drum upgrade

Has anyone tried to use rear drums and shoes from a 77 Super Cab on 77 2 wheel drive? 12"x3" vs 12" by2 1/2". As you can probably tell I have run out of projects!

I've not tried but I figure you might as well do the disc conversion if you're looking for something to do. Rear discs also makes a hydro-boost brake upgrade viable if you have power steering.
