If you have a truck with rear disc, the e- brake is a set of shoes inside the drum of the disc...... I believe they adjust the old fashion "shoe" way, by using the star wheel between the two shoes.... access with a curved screw driver thru the rubber plug hole.

The drum brake shoe adjustment is still the same using the star wheel..
The E brake cable has to be taken up to shorten the pull length.
Get under an look.
Good luck.

follow the e brake cable from the rear end. where the 2 come together there should be an adjuster.

Were it mine, I'd probably want to at least pull the drums and inspect/clean everything up, and maybe even perform a brake job assuming the drums haven't been off in a while. When was the last brake service? Lubing the cables isn't a bad plan either. The situation we want to avoid with all this anyway is a sticking parking brake upon release of brake. Make sure everything is squared away and then determine if, or how much adjustment is needed.

Invest in one of these. Worth every penny.

A good investment.
