He said the owner did take good care of the truck but it was run hard. I don’t know what run hard is for his truck but it could happen to anyone.

I guess building these engines for over two years for regular production “that’s one”. With all that are built already I wouldn’t worry much.

The technician did mention the parts looked like the GM LS6. Those parts probably come from one company like when we used to upgrade our old car engines with roller rockers.

First I'm seeing a lifter issue as well. Definitely not common, or a design flaw like the 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi.

Only time will tell for longterm durability as more of the engines enter the workforce.

Thats in an F450... Do they have the de-rated engines?

Those seem to be the majority I have read about that have issues. In the motorhome chassis more specifically.

Had a fleet of Hemi Chargers from 2006 to 2015. All of them had lifter failures and the lifters were always on national backorder.

The Hemi had a lot of lifter failures, wasn't enough oil getting to the cam and rollers on the earlier versions. As for LS engines lifter failures are almost always due to infrequent oil changes and/or poor quality oil. I expect the 7.3L will be the same. Really looks like it uses LS lifters!
