Hey y'all ive been searching for some answers. I don't wanna bother this sites pros or waste any of their time with questions that have been resolved, but im tired y'all. I dont know if I should change burnt fluid and filter in my 95 f250 7.3 4x4 or take a trip to the junkyard for a replacement. I know yall need alot more info. If ya want ask away I'll do my best to not waste your energies. Or some helpful links would work just as well. Thank you
change it now!!!!
it can not hurt the trans to have clean fluid in it.
any damage that was done is already there, and the clean fluid will not hurt it in any way, shape, or form.
it may last forever, or 10 minutes after the fluid change. but i can guarantee you the old burnt fluid will do more damage than clean will.
Service it. I would. Lots say don't flush. I have had one that killed. Its not supposed to but it did. If its burnt up the fluid change won't hurt nor fix. If it otherwise operates I would service away
If it's burned (actually black and pungent-smelling), no amount of new fluid will fix the damage already done to the friction material. Start saving money for another transmission and don't throw money away on a new filter and only 1/2 the fluid the thing actually holds.
No, it did not kill your trans. Your trans was beyond help before the flush and the flush didn't bring it back from the dead, so it failed.
It was a friends a4ld. I rode in it and it "seemed" fine. I took it to the dealership and used the bg flush machine.. the next morning it stopped working...thats the story and take from it what you may.
