Hey guys I am going to be changing my ATF fluid in my superduty. Should I do it myself? Have someone else do it? Give me your thoughts on this. I want to do the right thing. Thanks.
I can changeit Im sure off that. My question would a flush be better. The theory being you remove the entire fluid rather then just part off it. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I thought I would have more responses by now. Maybe I should post this somewhere else. 42 views. Come on guys tell me something. This is the transmission forum isnt.????
As Casey said the tech articles section has instructions on how to just drop the pan AND also how to flush. Flush is better as you change all the fluid.
Well if you are looking for different ideas! I used a lube syringe and 5 feet of clear tube, and suck out the fluid from the fill tube. If this is your first fluid service, drop the pan after removing the fluid, and change the filter, clean the magnet, inspect the gasket, replace the pan and properly torque the bolts. Then refill and check according to your manual. Should take about 5 qts. depending on your tranny. Then every year suck out the fluid and replace with a like amount. Should last a long time, and prevent you from having to take your truck to some ignorant grease monkey. There are other ways, but Im not as **** as I used to be about service. Ever go to the BITOG site, those people are twisted. Good luck.

I'll probably catch hell for this but here goes.
You have to help yourself a bit too.
