The ball cover is a piece of 2" sch 40 PVC conduit, I had to open up the inside of the top to fit up tight on the top of the ball base. I drilled and taped a 1/4 bolt to hold it on the ball.
The socket cover is made from a 6" PVC pipe end cap with the edge cut off with a piece of 11/2 PVC conduit epoxied to the round cover, the lock pin fits just above the belled end to hold it in place. I used to have a electrical business so it was all the stuff laying around. Sorry for the mess in the truck my wife collects rocks and a lot of desert dust on everything, it will get a deep cleaning when we get home before it's put away for the summer.
Denny
Denny, if you haven't seen it already, you and your wife should watch "The Long, Long Trailer" with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. It's a classic and even features rocks!
Oh, wow, I like how you did that. Do you use chains with your setup I have the B&W turnover ball, using my 2600 it seems kind of hard to hook up my chains to the U-bolt?
No I don't use chains.

Yes I've seen the movie, she knows that there is a limit to what she can bring back with her . The funny part is she knows where most of them came from that are around the house.
I also cut disks out of my old Teflon pad and put them in the bottom of the socket, the one I put in last October is just about all used up 3400 lbs of pin puts a lot of pressure on the end of the ball.
