Is your truck a short bed or long bed?
The advantage of the 2400 is that you don't need to own a goose ball.
The advantage to the 2600 is that you can move the hitch back a couple inches giving you slightly more cab clearance. I have the 2600 and really like it.

I have a long bed… I was thinking with the 2600, I don’t need it to be any further back…
The 2400 with puck rails is about $1200 and the 2600 is about $940. Trying to justify the price difference….
at that price, I might as well spend another 100 bucks and get a Gen Y
With the 2600 you don't have to install it in the rearward position. The 2400 might be easier to install and remove since you don't need a wrench.
Either way, those prices are crazy.
I have the 2600 and love it, I got it when I had my SB but I just bought a new 2022 CCLB so I don't have to worry like yourself, are you going to get the chain for it also?
I have a 2400 on standard universal rails because I don't have the puck system. If I were you I would go with the 2600. I've got close to 8k on ours now and would never go back to a standard style hitch again. There's no play so it's dead quiet, the only thing I'm doing different is I'm using white lithium grease on the ball instead of graphite because it holds up better, I also made a cover for the hitch socket and ball when not in use.

Do you apply the lithium grease before every trip? I've been using Slip Plate graphite paint.
What does your cover look like?

I lubed it before we left Yuma AZ about 900 miles ago and have 350 miles tomorrow before we stop for a month, I will will check it and probably add more before we make the 800 mile run home. I'm still hooked up for the night but will take a photo of my covers when we unhook tomorrow. The graphite just wouldn't hold up over a long pull, the ball would start making noise after maybe 500 miles. Our truck and trailer is level so when we stop for a night we don't unhook so I wanted something that will hold up over a long haul. When we get to our homebase I will clean all the grease off the ball and hitch and relube it next time. Love this hitch

Agreed, I love my 2600 as well.
I’ve not heard the ball make any noise. Is it noise you hear in the cab while driving?
The ball cover is a piece of 2" sch 40 PVC conduit, I had to open up the inside of the top to fit up tight on the top of the ball base. I drilled and taped a 1/4 bolt to hold it on the ball.
The socket cover is made from a 6" PVC pipe end cap with the edge cut off with a piece of 11/2 PVC conduit epoxied to the round cover, the lock pin fits just above the belled end to hold it in place. I used to have a electrical business so it was all the stuff laying around. Sorry for the mess in the truck my wife collects rocks and a lot of desert dust on everything, it will get a deep cleaning when we get home before it's put away for the summer.
Oh, wow, I like how you did that. Do you use chains with your setup I have the B&W turnover ball, using my 2600 it seems kind of hard to hook up my chains to the U-bolt?
