Any one know if any of these codes would cause Forscan to not read live data? This is on a L99 with AT. I know all things work on computer end as I just used everything on my truck with no issues. If not the codes, then what might cause an error message when trying to read live data?
Thanks.
I would not think any of those codes would cause FORScan not to read live data (except maybe P0603, if the PCM is having issues, but that code is usually from a battery disconnect).
Can you post a screen shot of the error you are getting?
You are using FORScan on a laptop?
Is the ignition on when you are trying to connect and read live data?

Jeff, thanks for the response. I will get a screen shot in the AM. Yes to using on laptop, yes to ignition on, and one additional thing. I did clear the codes once and all these came back. I did just place new batteries into a truck that hasn't run in some time. The error did say something about ignition, but again it will have to wait till AM. Thanks

Jeff...from this AM....same as yesterday. Thanks for looking.
No Bluetooth involved.
All hardware works on my truck.
OK, so you're using a USB wired dongle to connect to your laptop? Do you have another vehicle you can plug in to so as to rule out the dongle as the issue?
To piggyback on what Agate Flats mentioned, there are communication protocols and data codecs that may need to be adjusted. Think baud rates and various means of digital communication.
I know for a fact when I set up a USB OBDII scan tool to my Android head unit running FORScan Lite I had to change the settings on how FSL used the scan tool to communicate with the PCM.
Thanks Agate Flats & Sous for your thoughts. As mentioned, my OBDLink EX & computer work fine on my E99, MT truck. The truck in question is L99 with a AT. The hardware works to pull DTC's but does not read live data. This, and the error code of "Please make sure the ignition is on" leads me to believe it is not hardware related, however, all this is above my paygrade!
Thank for your thoughts!
BTW, this is my sons truck which he purchased from a fellow FTE member who some of you may remember from last May. Bulletpruf had a long thread about this rig and eventually ran out of time to complete his project.. Bulletpruf is active Army and we've kept the truck in the family, well, sort of. My son is active AF. He takes off on his second deployment in a 9 weeks and I was hoping to get it running for him before he leaves. For various reasons we've not had time to deal with it till now.
My plan was to tag onto Scott's thread once I had some hard data in hand, and I still have that hope, we'll see.
Please thank your son for his service to our nation and way of life. He is appreciated more than can ever be expressed.
We all hope his journey to and from deployment is swift and he returns home safely with life experiences and lessons that he can grow upon.
As for the scan tool, that is strange... We are still very interested in helping resolve the issue. Although, since the setup works on another vehicle and us capable of pulling stored DTC's, it is puzzling.
Perhaps you mentioned it, but what happens if you wait to connect the scan tool to the the PCM until after the vehicle is running?
I see where you said "a truck that hasn't run in some time", is that the truck in question and if so does it run or is that the reason for FORScan?

Thanks Sous....truck has not run in some time and currently is not running. That is the reason for Forscan.
I don't know....ya think this may have something to do with it?? So, sorry to ask the obvious, but what are my options? Pull harness and try to salvage the findable broken wires? Get entire harness?? I can see at least 3 broken or chewed through wires. BTW, this is PCM harness connector.
Thanks for any guidance moving forward!
