Excursion engine swap

I got a new v10 excursion but the motor stopped work. I also have a 7.3 4x4 excursion but it was in a rollover however the motor and trans work fine. Should I body swap it or move everything over to the v10? Please don’t tell me it’s easier to just buy a diesel or to just leave it alone. I have to much ambition to discover if it can be done. Thank you

if the v10 is 4x4. deffinately swap motor trans and all wiring/ecm etc. it is a big job but doable.if v10 is rusty might want to reconsider

the v10 is 2wd. Is it better to swap the body or trans motor ect

It's a big job either way, keep the 4x4 ability and you'll never regret it even if you never use it.

Depends on what shop equipment you have. If you have the ability to safety raise and lower a complete Excursion body, then that makes a big difference. Engines, transmissions, and transfer cases all come apart and can be swapped around between vehicles using a basic engine hoist (available at Harbor Freight for like $200), but lifting a body off the chassis without damaging it requires equipment that most DIY'ers just don't have.
