Hey folks. Coming to visit from the 7.3 forums. Got a 2005 f250 owner said it was warming up in his driveway for about a minute and a half then died and won’t start anymore. It smokes a tiny bit while cranking. I’ve checked ICP and ipr duty cycle and they look good as did ficm voltage (please correct me if I’m wrong). I’m thinking low fuel pressure but I’m not sure where to test it on the 6.0 this is the first one I’ve worked on. I appreciate any help! Here is the information I got off the sct tuner
Battery voltage is very low. Things go haywire with low voltage. Need at least 150 cranking rpms to start. With only 9.6 volts the FICM can be damaged.
Well update. Crazy things. After about 30 seconds of cranking it fired up! Sounded Like you would expect a 20 degree heui system to sound like probably a little sticky injectors. Let it warm up for a bit then I drove on the highway. Totally fine! Feels like it should. Talked to the owner and he said fuel filters haven’t been done in 2-3 oil changes. I’m thinking that’s all it is. I pulled this up on my scanner it just says fuel pump% and it’s constantly at 99.98%. Does this mean the fuel pump is struggling too?

Not sure what that is saying. Fuel pressure is not reported unless a sender and gauge are installed into the regulator or a fuel filter cap. In my opinion the batteries are a weak link that may lead to expensive repairs. If they were just depleted from cranking then they need to be fully recharged and checked for capacity. Glad it’s running again.
