I used Ultras on my '07 F-250. I'd get 4 to 5 years before a bulb burned out, and my lights are always on.

I would start looking at your electrical system or some odd vibration in your grill area as the culprit.

That's why I specified gas models in my post. Also, the person making the statement about taking the front end off shows a 2020 7.3 truck in his signature. I had one of those.

Had that 2004 Silverado 2500 over 18 years and 118k miles, some on dirt. Never replaced a DRL. Your elderly friend may have touched the bulbs during installation causing them to burnout. Anyway they are super easy to replace on a GM.

The two top bulbs on my 2022 SD aren’t too hard to get to, but the two bottom ones are. Not designed to be replaced on the road easily. I guess that’s why they give you four.

honestly, pulling the front end isnt hard and takes about 15 min. not a big deal anyways. 8mm and impact driver, flat head for the push pins and to release the metal clips at the bottom of the grill

I've done it. I'd rather not if I don't have to. Too many opportunities for mishaps like dropping a grille, losing fasteners, etc. But that's just my take. If someone wants to do unnecessary work, by all means have at it.

I never had any issues with the 2020 F-350 headlights in almost 2 years of ownership. The only other reference I have is the ex-2004 F-150. I think I changed headlight bulbs maybe once over 160K miles. But the left rear tail light - IIRC I put 6 bulbs in there and not a single one in the other side. Go figure.

I had the SilverStar bulbs in my 2012 F250, both low beam filaments burned out around the 60,000 mile / 10 month of usage time frame, 1st one died two weeks before the other. High beams still worked though. Glass was never touched, no burned spots from finger prints either, just broken filaments. Installed OEM Motorcraft bulbs from the dealer. That was 30,000 miles & 4 months ago. Never tried the Ultras. Stock bulbs are bright enough for me.

My 2020 Diesel CCSB 4x4, with halogens, has had the Sylvania Ultras in it since about 3 weeks after I bought it in 2020. NEVER had a single burnout. Lights are set to automatic, DRLs are off because DRLs are stupid. Take the grill off and save yourself the hassle of removing 40,000 other things. When I did mine, I poked around and took about 3 hours. After doing it once, I wager I could do the whole thing over in about 30 minutes. And I have the chrome trim kit that hides two of the screws necessary to get the grill off.
