My 2005 F250 PSD is going to need tires this year. I want to upgrade my stock 265/70R17 tires on 17” rims. My truck is dark green, so I’m thinking polished aluminum or chrome would be best. I don’t think the blacked out look will suit this truck. My truck is not lifted, and I’m not planning on lifting it.
How large of a wheel/ tire combination can/ should I go? Pics of your trucks so I can see different designs are encouraged!!
I would think some factory take-off 18" wheels from the 2005-2007 Lariat (p/n 3603) combined with an LT285/75 R18 tire would work well and look good. Russ

Did look at some of these, but was looking for something more custom than stock wheels. 18” wheels would certainly look better than the 17” stock wheels on it now.
my 2 cents, OEM wheels can be very good quality and can look great too. i prefer them over aftermarket. my 2006 SD has newer 20 in OEM wheels with stock size 275/65/20 tires off a 2014 SD and they fit fine. I have ran 17, 18 and 20s on same truck and really no ride quality difference. the 20s look best
I’m running a set of OEM 18s currently but when my tires wear out, or this time next year, I’ll be swapping on the OEM 20s I’ve got. They look so much better in my mind. 2014 platinum I believe, glossy in the center of the spokes but gloss black everywhere else.

What year is your truck? Also what size tires are mounted on the 20’s?
I also have been wanting to do the 20’s on my ‘05 but am unsure what rubber to put on them. Would love the 35-12.5 but not sure if they’ll fit the wheel well when I turn. The Method rims I’m looking at have a -18mm offset which should help.
in my opinion, ANY stock wheels will never look as good as some aftermarket. i like a bit more "dish" to them, i guess its offset in todays words. cant say i like the new fad of huge offsets though. i like a wheel that sets the tire just to the edge of the wheelwell.
i like the black/polished look, and usually prefer a wheel thats kind of busy, not just 5 big spokes. your truck would look killer in a set like that, i would go 18's.

This is perfect information. As far as I can find, those tires will be 34” diameter, and almost 11” wide. Stock rims don’t have any offset as far as I know.
And I totally agree, the 20” rims do look the best. I’m still trying to figure out if I can squeeze 35-12.5 in without rubbing on my ‘05. The fact that my truck has the plow setup and is higher in the front end should help.

I really like the Method Standard polished rims. I think I want to stay with a polished aluminum look. I don’t think the blacked out look suits me on wheels. And I agree with you, I don’t like a massive offset, just enough to bring the rubber to the edge or very slightly past the wheel well. I can’t really find anything else that looks like these. I definitely don’t want to do chrome.
In the pic I’ve got 37/12.50s on the 20s. I’m thinking when I go to use those wheels I’ll downsize to some 295/60r20, should be a 35.1” tire. I’ve been tempted to order some aftermarket wheels but the cost is crazy when I’ve got a decent set of factory wheels already.
275/65/20s are 34.1 diameter. you should check what the original diameter of your trucks tires are and not go to much bigger as it messes with gearing and stopping distance. on my 2006 SD 4x4 at stock height they clear nicely and look correct for the truck. according the the ford dealer i am at the limit of my trucks computer adjustment to correct the speedometer.
also to much offset and or to wide of wheels cause tires to stick out past fenders and cause a mess on side of truck and don't look right to me
