Charging system trouble shooting
So, the first shot from the parts cannon was a miss. It wasn't the alternator. Any other suggestions and how to test for them? I am really hoping it is not an ECU. eta. 2000 limited v10

Can't be the PCM since this truck is too old for that to be a concern.
Does the battery/charge warning indicator in the cluster come on when the ignition is switched from OFF to RUN? If not, check fuse F29 in the CJB. If blown or if that circuit (anywhere along the way to the alternator connector's "I" pin) doesn't work, the alternator remains switched off.
