I have a 2000 excursion that stopped charging . The battery light is on . I replaced the alternator but it still wilk not charge I have checked alk the fuses . Not sure where to go from here

To start with, why did you replace the alternator. How did you determine that the existing alternator was bad?

Second, where did you get this new alternator? Is this a brand new Motorcraft, or a parts store "rebuilt" alternator, or maybe something else? All I can say about that is you should never assume that a part is good just because it is new. We've seen countless examples of bad "rebuilt" parts here on this forum, especially alternators.

Start with some basics. At your battery, what is the voltage with the engine off? What is the voltage with the engine running?

 

And you might try the Excursion forum.... having enjoyed that group thru three Excursions I loved, there are some more smart guys in there (but don't tell them I said that !)
