Ok so I know that 112000 miles is high miles but I also know the 460 is almost bullet proof.so is this dangerously high? Hear is the issue I can't afford to rebuild it right now but would still like to drive it but don't want to grenade the motor.I suppose alot has to do with if it was regularly serviced and oil changed.
Have you checked compression on all cylinders? How much oil are you adding between oil changes? How often is the oil getting changed? If you have healthy compression, don't see lots of sparklies in the oil, and the regular maintenance has been done, I wouldn't worry about the mileage on the engine block. I would be more concerned about worn out vacuum or brake lines and things of that nature. Also, if you aren't the original owner, then the odometer reading is just about meaningless on a truck of this age.
Anything causing you to worry about it, like low oil pressure, noises, smoke, overheating, etc? If not ... just maintain it and drive it. 112,xxx is not itself a reason to worry, seen them go a w-h-o-l-e lot longer & furtherer. It's not bullet proof, but it's no shrinking violet either.
Get an inexpensive oil pressure gauge. Hook it up where the oil pressure sensor is (behind the carb) and that will tell you what you need to know about the bottom end and its condition. I think the rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000rpm?
Do a compression test on the cylinders...I think the +/- variance allowed is what...10% between the different cylinders on their PSI??
That's a lot of miles on any older engine but there's no reason to worry about hurting it unless something really feel's off.
If it has decent oil pressure drive it. it'll be lower on power and maybe burn and leak some oil but it won't make any difference when you go to rebuild it.

112K miles is not excessive if it was cared for properly. You can check the compression. The shop manual says that the lowest cylinder should be at least 75% of the highest. Follow the correct procedure when doing the check. If it still has the original cam gear (nylon teeth), change it. Otherwise, service it properly and use it. Use oil with sufficient ZDDP. If it tends to use oil, use the most viscous oil for your ambient.

Came here to say this. For a forty year old truck, 112,000 is not a lot of miles. On one motor it is certainly worn in, but could go another 100,000 before it needs to be rebuilt. As said before, it might need a timing chain and some other parts along the way. I have also seen engines blow up at 112,000 miles. If it is running well and you are taking care of it, run it as long as it runs.
I hope I dont jinx myself but my 86 460 has 139k on it, maybe 239 but I dont think..
anyway its still running strong, think the timing chain needs done though now.
that one is about 30 psi hot 80-90 cold start
my 79 has a 76/77 460 in it and that one is done.
20w-50 is required and I still only see about 10 psi at hot idle. Maybe 60 on cold start.
