Weird I thought it was but did not want to bitch about it thinking maybe I am nuts etc...
Wish I knew it before I may have just lived with the blue puff etc...
Reason why I bough the truck was it is quieter over the 7.3 Any idea how to tell what rev the computer is flashed with? Rather than guess?
Sterring does semm sloppy, all over drifts left to right etc... Darn I hate to trade in a 2 month old truck!
I just want what I paid for! The truck that Ford advertised as being "quiet". Not one that after the purchase they say "oops, we were just kidding about that quiet thing. After all, you bought a diesel what were you expecting?".Truck just turned 2,000 mi, checked oil when new, was half way between add & full. Checked again @ 1,000 mi. same thing checked @ 1,800 still good. checked @2,000 mi. 2 days after flash, looks to be about 3 quarts over full. Called dealer to ask what I thought was stupid smart mouth question "My truck seems to have way more oil in it than it should, can I keep driving it?". They are going to call me back & let me know! I'm guessing this is just raw fuel, & where else could could it come from but past the rings & down the cylinder walls.NO GOOD! I've e-mailed Bullydog to see if they have any answers, no reply yet. Test drove a Dodge 1500 Hemi last night (can you tell I'm fet-up with this 6.0 & diesels in general )It was o.k. but could not compare to what I have now, I'm not quite that fet-up yet. That's just my opinion so any Dodge fans out there just settle down!! Still waiting for Ford Rep to call, they said it would be within 3 days, today is day 3. Oh, as far as the duramax goes, are the still blowing the heads off of them? or did they fix that little problem.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
A few of these people obviously have legitimate problems. Most are related to noise, steering and mileage. To people who don't like the noise, trade it for a Caddy or Lincoln. Diesels make noise, all of them. To the people who complain about the steering, pitman arm steering is not rack and pinion. Go back to your Honda Accord. Those who complain about the mileage, get your foot out of the turbo or buy a smaller vehicle.
This Ford diesel is the best ever and I've driven nearly all of them since 1960. These are 3/4 ton or better trucks. Very refined, but still trucks. Diesels require more maintenance, and a thinking operator. If they were easy to live with, the manufacturers would never sell a gasoline vehicle.

I had fuel in the oil and the dealership replaced the o-rings on the injectors. A couple of months later, the engine died traveling down the hiway. This time the dealership replaced two injectors but refused to replace the remaining six , said Ford would not authorize replacing the six old injectors even though the very same injectors were recalled off the shelf at the service departments. These faulty injectors should be replaced, not only because they make the truck unreliable, but a truck that will die going down the hiway and will not restart is dangerous. I will not let my wife or daughters drive this truck as long as the old injectors are in this truck. Thats a shame for a 35,000 dollar truck.
