Squeeling like a pig

My truck, a 78 F150 4.9 NP435/ 205 has developed a squeal. I do have a 3G on it and thought that's what it was. I replaced the belt and it did not stop. It doesn't squeal all the time. It comes and goes. Today it squealed longer than it ever has. About 3 miles worth. It squeals mainly at low RPMs. It will start suddenly and end just as fast. It does not seem to change with RPMs. I filled PS pump. Changed both it and the 3Gs belt. What else could it be?

It could be many things. If there are other belts, it could be one of them. It could be a bearing in the alternator or water pump or power steering pump. Try some of that anti-squeal belt treatment. Loosen each belt one at a time briefly to see if it stops.

Army trick. Throw talcum powder on the belt. Will kill a squealing belt noise if that is it.

I think each belt dose the water pump so you could pull the ALT belt and run the motor.
It would be a little harder for the PS pump but could also be done the same way.
If you have AC just unplug the compressor so it cant run and the belt just free wheels.

I have a 240 that had a squeal that would come and go. It ended up being a couple of loose manifold bolts that were causing a vacuum leak, when things warmed up.

I believe I found it. It finally started to squeal when I pulled in the drive tonight. It's the actual alternator. It came from the junkyard and I knew it was gonna be shortlived because the copper the brushes run on were grooved pretty deep. Looks like it has finally given up. Thanks for all the replies.
