Dash Pods

Has anyone out there installed one of those instrument panel two hole pods?
I already have the 3-Piller Pod and would like to add a water temp and oil pressure gauge but don't want anything under the dash and am thinking the over the rear view mirror pod might look cluttered.
Any thoughts?

The in dash instead of over the rear view seem like a good idea to me. I'm not familiar with the kit but I would want the guages lower on the dash rather than higher. I think it would look goofy otherwise.

Hey...the cockpit look is in ...I'm going to be adding more gauges too. I want
fuel pressure and water temp. Going to install on top of dash like the raceing set-up

The dash pod is a insert that fits in front of your instrument panel just like the original shroud except it has a hole at the bottom of each side for a gauge.
If you look at your dash you will see how it fits just like the original. Our dash face has a blank spot on each side already so they won't cover anything in back.
You can see a picture here.

I just recently installed the dual pod for the instrument panel as well as a single pod that goes on the steering column. I ended up putting the water temp on the driver's side, the fuel pressure in the middle, and the trans temp on the passenger side. I have yet to fabricate the plate for the PTO cover where the trans temp sender will go, but suffice to say it will require sunglasses to view the billet!

Here's the look from the cockpit. This is the mock-up, the bezel actually fits better and let's you see the "50" in the speedo.

Here's my pressure sending unit tapped into the regulator.

And here is how I tapped into the coolant filter housing for the temp gauge.

Cool stuff there Fat Diesel. I especially like the fuel pressure sender setup.

Thanks Guzzle. I bought the fitting to put it on the fuel bowl, but it was a pain to get the plug out and the clearence with the HPOP lines looked less than ideal. I know they vibrate a lot.

Not enough weight there to worry about. The brass is flexible enough, it will handle it fine. I've seen similar configurations running LPG at 160psi on engine conversions.

Actually I was worried about the vibration of the HPOP lines either destroying the wiring for the sender or wearing a hole in the lines.

Wrap the wire in 1/4 flex conduit. It'll make 'em look cleaner too.
