I have searched through old threads and it appears this handle cannot be removed without drilling out the pin currently holding it on. My handle is broke and the Dennis Carpenter aftermarket piece has a new pin. Any idea the best way to do this? My current handle has the pin in the bottom, the reproduction it does side to side
Cut most of the way through the plastic with a hacksaw and then clamp down on it with a channel lock or visegrip and it will likely crack break right off.
So once the old handle is cut away will the pin pull out with pliers? Then do I just drill a new hole and install the provided pin with the replacement handle?
I used a hacksaw then the dykes, the old handle popped right off. The new handle had holes drilled in the wrong spots. I drilled a new hole and jammed the pin in as best I could with a set of channel locks. I cut the remaining nub off. Not perfect, but should work.
