Looks like a 4-sp crashbox to me, from a larger truck. If not cracked, the rear mount (bearing retainer) may be worth more than the whole trans.
I separated the transmission from the motor today.
I have no use for it so I will offer it up on a couple local classic car sites.
I want to tear down the motor to see what condition the block is in. From there I will decide to keep it or kick it to the curb.
Pretty much all you can do is disassemble the motor and send the block in to the machine shop to be magnafluxed.
If its got no cracks you are good to go. Then you just have to splurge on the 7-10k to rebuild it...
Looks like it's had some valve work done on it in the past, so you might find a set of adjustable lifters under that aluminum intake. You don't often see a RH head gasket installed on the left side, but it must have worked. Keep the pictures coming! - Bob
Save the front pulleys, the front spacer on the crank (if you can get it off), and any bolts that are good (flywheel and PP in particular). If the cam gear is aluminum that is also worth keeping.

Thanks Ross I was hoping you'd join in.
I am going to pull the water pumps today. Not sure whst PP is, pump pulleys?
PP is pressure plate (bolts). I'm wondering if it has an 11" pressure plate and a 10" clutch disc? The flywheel surface has a "funny" look to it. - Bob
