Having problem with turbo boost folding back on my early 99 7.3 F250 4x4 with 300k miles. My boost pressure gauge shows it will only build pressure to about 10 lbs and then the waste gate opens and starts dumping pressure and loosing power. I have seen it get up to 17-20 and hold before the problem started. This a real problem when hauling cattle or hay and trying to get on the freeway. Problem seems to be the waste gate actuator. The part that came in to replace it has a bracket that is not like the old one. Anyone know a source for an original part ?
Alternately I have considered locking it down and just being careful I dont let it "over boost". But I dont know what the over boost pressure is or how long I could keep it there before risk of damage to something else.
Suggestions appreciated
