Have a 94 f150 extended cab short box with the dual tanks. The fuel pump on the front tank is really noisy and has been that way for a couple of years. I looked on rock auto and there’s a lot of options. Guess I’m not sure which one to pick. Any idea what pump I need, part number? I want a good one brand wise
When I replaced my front tank & pump last year I also found out there is a lot of options. Your best bet is to verify the size of the front tank. What I found out is I had a 16.5 gallon front tank even though my owners manual said I had a 18 gallon tank. You need to measure the length of the tank to verify the gallon capacity. I ended up going to autozone website to compare the length of the tank to verify the capacity.
FYI. I would not buy a pump until I pulled the tank and made sure you don't need a tank as well. Mine was rusting out under the straps and once I pulled it out the holes appeared. The only thing that stopped it from leaking was the straps. Its cheaper to buy a tank / pump combo than individual parts. After buying a new tank I sealed the inside of the tank with RedKote and sprayed the outside heavily with rustproofing. If you decide to Redkote the inside of your tank I recommend wearing a paint respirator and doing it outside. The fumes are very powerful and not in a good way.
