My truck already has a rear camera so I decided to put my mirror dash cam's rear camera to the front...
The only difference is that the image is a mirror image but other than that no problems doing this.
At first I connected the wire that was supposed to go to the rear backup lights to turn the camera on automatically, to the front fog light that I had to turn on to turn the camera on... Then I decided to use switch #1 on the headliner up-fitter switch... Locating the wire was the hard part, everything else was easy.
Ha, Ha, Ha... Good one. But normally it wouldn't be because the camera is set up for the rearview point of view... and because it is pointed forwards now the drivers side on the left of the car ahead of me is actually showing up on the passenger right side of the picture... So one needs to be careful and realize that what they are seeing is reversed, I just thought to mention that just in case someone else actually did the same as me and was wondering whether there was a downside to this set up...
