Hi all, my 97 f350 has 260k miles on it. Purchased it almost a year ago and i dont think the injectors have ever been replaced or rebuilt. Is it about time or can i go longer? Lately its not been starting on a dime but has been starting on the first crank.
Best time to replace injectors is when there is a wad of money that wants to get set free
One path for setting up a plan for injectors is to consider pulling one or two and sending them to an injector shop for testing. Only risk here is a variable amount of downtime as you may decide to pull the remaining injectors based on results of the units sent for testing.
And that longer start time might also come from a tired starter or cables getting some corrosion in them.
I wouldn’t mess with them if the truck is running fine unless you are looking for an excuse to upgrade. I am north of 300k and mine runs very well and I have no concerns about their health.
