Hello all…. Have a 2017 F250 XLT diesel that intermittently when trying to start, the starter is trying but not start the engine. This happens every few days, but is not consistent. You can hear the starter cranking noise but won’t turnover… but very inconsistent and not a regular issue, just every few days. Once it is running no issues at all. Ideas? Thanks!

Yes new batteries 3 months old. Once while it was cranking but not start the display did read low fuel pressure but only this latest time.
cranking was not slow.

I'm a little confused, you say it won't turn the engine over but you can hear the cranking noise from the starter???
How can you hear a cranking noise if it isn't turning the engine over???
And, then the latest time the engine was cranking over and not slow, but didn't start???

Ok, makes sense that if your starter system is good the next culprit is low fuel pressure and you saw the warning. Going to have to walk down the system and find the culprit. Could be as simple as a clog, also could be in the pump. Hard to diagnose on symptoms other than low pressure like the display said.
Yes tightened the batteries a few days ago also. The starter cranks like usual, not slow, however doesn’t turn over sometimes. Did briefly see a low fuel pressure message during one of the issues. Am gonna change the fuel filters tomorrow to see if fuel related to them. It did start again but this 4th time in 2 weeks. Batteries both replaced in September. No service engine light or code. Bought at 50k miles from dealership and now 60k miles. I did see a video of a person change fuel filters and did the same thing to him after trying to prime the fuel lines… so might be fuel related? We shall see… thanks everyone for reply.
