Headlights

My headlights point about 25 ft in front of the truck. My high beams, although brighter, also point 25 ft. in front of the truck. Can I adjust them my self?
Thanks

You can, they have adjustment ***** above each headlight you can turn.

Remember the high and low beam are the same bulb.

Thats more up to driver preference I think. You obviously want to have as much visibility as possible, but also don't want to blind oncoming traffic.

Usually I've seen people aim them by parking so far away from a garage door and they have a measurement of around 3 foot off the ground for the main focus.

Height of the truck will also play into account of headlight aiming

Right or wrong here’s what I did when I replaced all my housings and bulbs. Find a nice level/flat surface with a wall.

pull up within a couple feet of the wall and put a 12” piece of tape both horizontal and vertical through the center of each beam. Back up as straight as possible about 30 feet. Adjust the drivers side so it is on the same vertical and 3-4 inches down horizontally. Adjust the passenger side so it is a few inches right of vertical and the same 3-4 inches down horizontally. I found it helps to cover up the light you not adjusting to minimize interference. Since it’s the same bulb, set the low beams and the highs take care of themselves.

So far I’ve had great visibility and no complaints from oncoming traffic.

HTH,
Bob

Thanks Bob. And since the parking brake seems to think independently I can stand at the wall and It will back up all by itself!
