Cold v Warm - PCM that is

Since having a spare PCM bailed me out a few months ago, it is time to get another spare. For the e99 manual, pretty much limited to the DPC-401 group. Since it is already -10F tonight, the cold weather versions are where I am headed (which is what I have).

But what is the difference in programming - cold v warm? I am guessing Glow Plug times at a minimum. Is there some sort of high idle strategy built in? Neither of mine have any sort of high idle time baked in. Is combustion adjustment made as a function of coolant temp? Not sure how that works on mine since CoolTempSensor is a dummy reminder only. There cant be any feedback on transmission temps, since there isnt anything measuring it.

Long and short, is there any way to see the root programming of one of these PCMs? I hunted around a few years ago, but came up small.

Thanks!

Nevermind playing with PCMs.
Tuning will take care of desired High Idle etc.

The only difference in the cold vs warm calibrations in E99 is the automatic high idle - or lack of.

Later ones could have actually been ordered without the backpressure sensor and valve.

It's really quite stupid that there were separate calibrations and hardware changes at one time. I guess some calibration engineer decided that he needed to justify his existence.

In that case, I guess it doesn't matter cold v warm. Thanks!
