Depending where you are in Texas you may be getting winter fuel. That alone has been known to drop milage.

Monitoring the back pressure with Forscan or something would show if it's a problem.
As mentioned winter fuel hurts mpgs. A heavy bumper has an impact but 2 mpg is more than I'd expect.
Thank y'all. Doubt its winter fuel since I'm in central Texas. Never known any stations in our area to switch. I can monitor on forscan and see what it shows. Seemed to come on after getting the bumper though. Its 260 lbs. The last 2 tanks were a little better than the previous ones and I'm closer to my normal average but still down some.
Thanks for spreading the word about this somewhat uncommon tool Don. I used a lawn mower throttle cable years ago and it did a decent job. Something like this is a nice to have item in the tool inventory.
Also, I am always looking for a reason to buy more tools...
I got mine on Ebay awhile ago, pretty sure I saw them on Amazon also. Surprised at how well it worked without pulling the tube off. That made it very worthwhile for me.
That's an interesting tool! Never seen that before! When I cleaned mine I used a bit of weed eater string. Playing with brake clean and just kept pushing on it until I got it through. Fed it through to the other end and put a drill on it and spun it for a while and occasionally shooting some brake clean through it and all kinds of sooty goodness came out! In a pinch you can come up with stuff!
