I'm sorry to hijack this thread but had a question about cleaning the tube. If I have a non EBPV pedestal now, do I still need to occasionally clean the EBP tube? Over the past couple of months I have lost about 1 - 2 mpg and am wondering if it is just the heavy replacement bumper I put on or if there is another issue.

As i said above i have seen no improvement in my mpg, but with anything it's worth having within proper specs!
I might replace the sensor, although it does read according to the CTS3 via obdII port does that mean it's working?
Thank you for the link! I was looking for one of these tools a couple years ago and was not able to find one. Were you able to do it by hand at all or did you have to put it in a drill?

Being in Tucson I have a few of those, I cut the handle off one to put in the drill for use on clogged swamp coolers but for the EBP tube I doubt you'll need to use a drill. When I did mine at 140K there was barely anything in it, everything was in the sensor and at the connection.

Depending where you are in Texas you may be getting winter fuel. That alone has been known to drop milage.

I imagine when the EBPV activates it could back up more particulates in the exhaust manifold than during normal flow. But that doesn't happen very often for most folks. Otherwise the EBP sensor and tube will still be subject to the normal contamination and need cleaning once in a long while. Monitoring the back pressure with Forscan or something would show if it's a problem.
As mentioned winter fuel hurts mpgs. A heavy bumper has an impact but 2 mpg is more than I'd expect.

I was able to do mine by hand this time, 1st time it took a drill and wd 40 and brake cleaner to get through it, i guess doing it often enough helps to get through it by hand
