I used Schaeffers 9000 back in 2008, and saw the lead go up. I quit using it for awhile and the lead went down.
Then, I used it again in 2010 and the lead went back up.
Pretty conclusive to me.
I have the oil analyses posted somewhere on one of the forums from way back then.
I remember that... And your iron went up after using Valvoline 5W40 but that was probably with API CI4+
My oil analysis at 227k miles (switching back and forth between Mobil 1 TDT and Mobil Delvac 1 ESP - 5W40). The change interval was 7422 miles:
I am not a fan of 15W40 in the winter for a 6.0L. Ford and International both say that it is recommended not to use 15W40 below 20 degrees F.
The analysis above was CJ4 oil. I now have one oil change on CK oil. Sadly I did not catch a sample of it last month. I will sample again in December this year (at 7500 miles).
It's interesting that the FOMOCO list includes Delvac 1 ESP 0W-40
I was at Tractor Supply today and they had 3 gallons of Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 and said they "should" be getting more. But with NAPA advertising a discounted price for it I think I'll get it at NAPA!
My 6.0L has been sitting since mid December as I don't run it in the winter. However, I have started it and drove it around the shop where it is stored twice so far, and today put the batteries on a tender.
I wasn't aware there was a shortage of motor oil, but it seems there is a shortage of everything and high prices for what is available. I like the T6 5W40; hope I can get some in a couple of months when the truck goes back into service. Maybe I'll shop now.

Not sure. I have only missed one oil analysis since owning this truck, and it was the last one (it would have been representative of the +CK version of the oil).
Yeah I'm probably going to go to a 15w40 on this oil change. The sticker shock is real on most 5w40. I have scoured the internet much of today and hard pressed to find any 5w40 under $35/gallon. LETS GO BRANDON!
You might be looking in the wrong places. Last month I posted a special at Napa Auto Parts for Valvoline 5W-40 for $21.99/gal. I bought 3 cases (9 gal)
This month they're running Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 for $21.99/gal. (and free shipping over $35)

Word of advice…the phrase about the NASCAR driver, while I totally agree, got some threads shut down and hands slapped over in the 6.7L section.

Yeah......it seems to be getting this way.....maybe LGB then?
That way we can say we're talking about Long Beach Ca Airport! I used to fly in there a LOT in the front seat of an MD-88 https://www.longbeach.gov/lgb/
