Ok guys old question but new for me. I have a 2019 F250 6.7 XLT 4X4 and I'm religious about maintenance. Last oil change I used Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic. What I'm asking is a good oil to use and the right weight. I'm old school I change the oil every 3500-4000 miles as well as the fuel filters. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hope everyone has a wonderful new and hope it's better than last for our country. Please don't forget our men and women who are serving our country, I'm retired military and my son gave his life while serving in the US Air Force. Thank you.
First, Thank You for your service and my heart goes out to you and your family for the loss of your son. There are too many Gold Star Families.
I’m a service connected Disabled Viet Nam Air Force veteran. My wife served as a nurse in the Air Force hospital I was last stationed and later went on to serve our veterans as a VA nurse for over 30 years.
A Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family. Stay Safe.
I’m also old school and change my oil every 5,000 miles. I use either Rotella T6 or Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme. I either purchase it from Amazon or Tractor Supply. I use Ford OEM oil filters.
I'm sure what you mean by group III. Does that mean Rotella shouldn't be used. Thank you.
It's kinda like using the term organic....they call it synthetic, but it's a III out of IV. T6 is an excellent oil for what you're going to do. If you were planning on really long drain intervals, then not as much.

I'm going to piggyback on this for a sec.....I started using Rotella T6 in mine and because of the low miles the truck sees, it usually gets changed based on time instead of miles. Close to annually, so could be considered a long drain interval. It's not outside of Fords interval, for dino or synthetic, but I thought the T6 would be fine for my use.
Is it not, and what would be better for low mile/extended interval?

It meet’s fords specs and the best thing you can do is stick with one brand/model oil.
I use T6 5w-40 and Blackstone said my oil looked great at a 10k oil change. That being said, I'm going with Valvoline Blue Extreme my next change. Why? I have 8 qts of T6 and can't find any except for those that charge way too high prices. I found it online in stock 2x, ordered and had both cancelled when they ran out. Valvoline was 2 days from O-Reillys and I have an oil change coming up. I did find Mobil 1, but it is not on Fords list.

T6 is fine. I was referring more so to the term "synthetic" being used as loosely as "organic."

I know some people will be driven to insanity by this statement, but you can mix oil brands and types. Like you can mix Shell T6 synthetic with a Motorcraft diesel conventional. As long as the blended oils meet specs, you are fine. I would suggest you go to the sources to read this for yourself. I do this routinely and always have. Again, as long as the oil meets specs.
